Composer and conductor Nikolai Korndorf was a long-time faculty member of the Moscow Conservatory and was well established on the Russian music scene at the time of his emigration to Canada in 1991. Until his untimely death in 2001 at age 54, Korndorf made an indelible mark on the music of his adoptive home, Canada.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his death and in a bid to keep his musical legacy alive, we are organizing a collection of essays commemorating his life and artistry. At this time I am pleased to invite submissions, with a broad range of topics to be considered: from recollections of personal encounters to analyses of specific compositions. The language of the volume is to be English.

Deadline for paper proposals/abstracts is December 31, 2012, with screening to begin early in 2013.
