Yarilo’s daring experiment, the collage of music, multi media and ballet brings huge success and endorsement form Vancouver audiences! The production was invited to be presented also in Europe, in the National Radio in Sofia, Bulgaria on January 8!

For Two Pianos, Percussion, Multi-Media, and Dance

Our latest concert production: a collage of three pieces: Simeon Ten Holt’s Canto Ostinato, Colin MacDonald’s Firewalk, and Liubomir Melnyk’s Fountains; preceding and ending the program will be the second of Erik Satie’s Pieces froids, Danses a travers, an unmeasured work that functions as an introduction and a coda in the context of the program. Innovations in music history occur in circles rather than in straight lines, and every new piece is another circle in an endless, continuous spiral. This idea is our main point of departure. At the center of our program is the minimalist composition Canto Ostinato by the contemporary Dutch composer Simeon Ten Holt, which will function as a recurring refrain.

For the number of repetitions in the organization of the performance we have employed the Fibonacci sequence. A multi-media presentation of fractals will provide the visual corollary component of our program.
