Yarilo 2015 Highlights
Dear Music Lovers and Friends of Yarilo!
With our very best wishes for a fruitful and productive 2016 to all of you we would like to share Yarilo’s exiting events and musical “adventures” of last year. Here are some highlights from 2015:
- January 8th, Studio One of the National Bulgarian Radio, Sofia. Our production “Timeless circles” was a resounding success! The concert was broadcast live and multiple interviews on the radio and National Television took place. Special attention was given to Colin MacDonald’s Firewalk, a piece inspired by Bulgarian folklore. This piece was commissioned by the Yarilo Music Society!
- March 21, Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver – The first Part of the Project AMEN! An incredible journey through history! Among our guests were the Borealis String Quartet and Colin Miles’ “da Gamba” Ensemble.
Dona Wong Juliani about the concert writes:
“Congratulations to all of you, but most particularly to you for the absolutely exquisite and deeply moving concert last night.
I consider myself amongst the privileged to have experienced the combined artistry of the musicians you brought together, to present the amazing program you created. It was an evening of music that I will long remember!”
- The high point was the Yarilo European tour! Zurich, Moscow, Sofia and Tel Aviv! Here is Jane Hayes on Bulgarian TV, “speaking” Bulgarian:
